Tender's for the Alangatahi bridge will be considered at the next meeting of the Hawke's Bay County Council.

An inquest was held this morning at Napier, before Mr. PI. W. Brabant, district coroner, on the body of Fanny Harris, who was found dead yesterday morning. After hearing lengthy evidence the coroner returned the following verdict: ‘ Ifiud that deceased died from a wound on her throat inflicted by herself when, in the opinion of her medical attendant, she was temporarily out of her mind.”

The trop had a small spring broken and a nut tost, but no other damage- wadone. The harness was considerably broken, and the horse was badly cut about the legs The occupants escaped with only a few bruises.
