“ The Times’ ” Paris correspondent states that negotiations have not yet led to any basis for a final agreement. Germany has abandoned her claim to the entire French Congo, and negotiation:* have reached a more reasonable phase, with possible exchange of certain regions in French Cong®» for regions in German Cajneroons. German claims in this regard are still considered excessive.

An officially prompted new® agency states that France is offering the hinterland of the Cameroons from Lake Chad to the junction w’ith a line running eastward from Libreville, in French Conga.
