ON THE BARQUE DUNCRAG. tPEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] Wellington. July 23. A fracas occurred on the Norwegian barque Duncrag on Friday night and resulted in a man named Charles Swanson receiving some severe injuries to his face. It was alleged that a knife was used. The injuries were of such a serious nature that it was found necessary bv Dr. Henry to insert stitches. ‘As a result of the occurrence Julius Jorgensen, a sailor on the vessel, was charged at the Magistrate’s Court before Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.. yesterday with assaulting Swanson and causing him actual bodily harm. On the application of Sub-inspector Sheehan a remand was granted until Monday afternoon.
