Mr. Wm. E. Raymond, Officer in Charge of the Sydney Observatory, writes:--‘lf. has been cabled from Kiel. Germany, that a faint comet has been discovered by Kiess. ci the Lick Observatory, position. July, six days decimal nine seven four, Greenwich mean time, right ascension, four hours fifty-one minutes fifty-one seconds decimal eight : North Polar distance, fiftyfour degrees forty-four minutes fifty-eight seconds. Motion, southwesterly. Tail.”
