NAPIER BOXING ASSOCIATION.

OPENING OF NEW CLUB ROOMS.

The Napier Amateur Boxing Association will open their club room to-morrow evening in premises above Bendall’s cycle shop, Hastings street, Napier, the entrance being gained from the Marine Parade. A ring 18ft. square has been erected and the floor is on the American principle. (A good thickness of sawdust covered with canvas.) Punch balls have been fitted up for training purposes, and a shower bath and massage table are in coarse of erection, so Napier boxers will have an opportunity of fitting themselves for any contest ahead.

The room has been nicel.v renovated, and is well lighted and there is plenty of breathing space. Three Poverty Bay boxers, Williams (heavy-weight), Calnan (mid-dle-weight), and Mullooly (welter) will be present and will give exhibition spars.

The Napier City Band will play a selection of music prior to the opening ,and the president of the club, Mr. B. J. Dolan, will give a short address.

There will be seven exhibition spars, club swinging, and ball punching. It is expected that a number of Hastings boxers will be present. All members and intending members of the club are cordially invited.
