ARMAMENTS AND MEN.
AUSTRALIAN CADETS AT HOME. (Received 24, 8.5 a.m.) London, July 23. The Premier of New South Wales has granted £5OO to enable cadets to prolong their visit till the end of August. The officers of the cadets entertained many Australians. including Sir William Lyne, at a garden party at the Crystal Palace.
BOY SCOUT MOVEMENT.
CONDEMNED BY MINERS.
(Received 24, 8.5 a.m.) New York, July 23. The Western Miners' Federation at Butte. Montana, condemned the Boy Scouts movement as befitting flunkeys, wholly unfitting for boys of American citizenship, and inculcating a spirit of militarism.
