SERIOUS ACCIDENT

AN ENGINEER LOSES HIS ARM. AT WOODFORD HOUSE. A serious accident occurred at Woodford House School to-day when Mr. Dave MacDonald, engineer in the employ of Messrs. Niven and Co., had his right arm chopped off between the shoulder and elbow. Details of the accident are not available further than that it happened at 2 o’clock this afternoon, and that he was engaged fitting in the machinery for the school laundry. Mr. MacDonald, who was at work erecting machinery in the Tribune’s new building yesterday, is a universal favourite, and the news of his sad mishap came as a great shock to his fellow workmen and friends.

The injured man was at once removed to Nurse Jeffard’s, and isnow receiving every care and attention.
