The first American memorial in England to William Penn was unveiled to-day in All Hallow s Church. Barking, where Penn was baptised. Many of his descendants, including Lord Ranfurly. were present at the subsequent dinner. i.ord Kitchener, responding to the toast , “The Armies of America, Britain, and the Overseas Dominions.” said that Australia possessed a college full of cadets, which was based on the principles of the. West Point College, proving the admiration of Britishers for that institution which was providing America with officers, and also showing the energy of Australia and New Zealand to study military problems.
