HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The Public Works Committee of the Hastings Borough Council will meet to-morrow evening to consider the following business: —(1) Con-s-rummn of private street laid off ijv .Mr. B. Sowersby, also construction of other private streets. <_2) Lettfr from Hastings Fire Board ns to shortage of water, submitting phms and specifications of public buildings to the hoard’s supermt< ndent. and employment of firemen at public performances m theatres. (3) Leiter from A. I). Riley and Co. as to trackless trolley system of electric traction. (4) Letter from Inspector of Explosives stating that license of council’s magazine would be camelled at the end of the present year. (5) Letter from the Publii- Health Department re extermination of rats.
The Public Reserves Committee will meet the same . veiling to consider the following business: (I) The question of erecting hoardings and tlie cost thereof. (2) The question of sanitary improvements to the public urinal, with power to act. (3) Caretaker’s report presented to the last meeting of the council.
