GREAT DAMAGE TO CROPS

(Received 12, 9.30 a.m.) Washington, July 11. The Bureau of the Department ot Agriculture reports that a heat wave has played havoc with the crops and foodstuffs. Oats and hay were the hardest hit by the: wave. The crop was about the' average, while the corn acreage was; the largest recorded, but its condition is 7 per cent, below the average. ;
