PANIC AT A PICTURE SHOW.
SEVERAL PERSONS INJURED., ! (Received 10, 9.0 a.m.) ; Melbourne, July 9. ; A fire in the picture pavilion at j Geelong, occurred last nght. A film ' ignited which the operator picked | up and dropped in front of the main i exit. The audience scrambled out; in a semi panic and several fell into ' or were caught by the flames, and; their clothes igniting spread the! conflagration. Six persons were i ; badly burned and removed to the i hospital. Two girls and a boy were) seriously burnt and a number of I others received minor injuries. The | I operator’s hands were badly; burned in carrying the film.
