The Hastings branch of the Hibernian Society held their halfvearlv meeting last evening, in St. Patrick’s Hall. The V.P., Bro. x. T. O’Sullivan, presided over a good attendance of members. Correspondence from the Friendly Societies’ Council with reference to concessions from the Hospital Board to members of friendly societies was received, and was held over tor discussion sit a special summoned meeting. In testing the feelings of the members present, all were in favour of the scheme. The quarterly report and balance sheet wore read and adopted, and sin.wed the lodge io be in a sound progressive condition, both numeneaily and iinnm ially. Accounts were passed for payment- to sink members for quarter £3B/15-, medical attendance £2O 10/-. Contributions received for quarter amounted to £B3 12/9. Six candidates wore admitted to membership. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Bro. 1. T. O’Sullivan ; V.P., Bro. J. P. McCarthy ; Sec., Bro. G. O’Shea; Treas’, Bro. J. R. McCarthy; Warden, Bro. J. J. McCarthy; Guardian, Bro. R. O Gorman ; sick visitors, Bros. T. Seede and J. Corkery: auditors, Bros. P. J. Devine and P. J. Carroll; trustees, Bros. J. Flynn. R. P. McCarthy, and T. Scanlon ; delegates to Medical Association, Bros. T. Downing and G. O’Shea ; delegates to Friendly Societies’ Council, Bros. T. Downing and T. T. O’Sullivan.
A vote of thanks was accorded to the outgoing officers for the conscientious discharge of their duties during their term of office.
