HASTINGS BOROUGH COUNCIL.
The following notices of motion have been tabled for consideration at the next meeting of the fbote council:-- ( r. Donovan to move: .’) That another permanent man be engaged to sweep the streets ; That the eastern side of Hereraunga street from Riverslea road to Seiwood road be concrete kerb-. ed and channelled : (3> That the drain in Karamu r.>ad footpath, from Alexandra Orescent to Frederick street be tilled in and graded and fine metalled ; (4) That a footpath be formed and fine metalled in Henrj- street from Charles street to Chapman street. Cr. George to move: —‘That each committee appointed by the council elect its own chairman ] Cr. Hart to move:—‘‘That the Police Department’s attention l.c drawn to the fact that the number of policemen doing duty in Has - • ings at the present time is usuffi- 1 cient considering the imr- • itince of the borough.
