HAWKE'S BAY RABBIT BOARD
The monthly meeting of tbs Hawke’s Bay Rabbit Board was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs. A. C. Bennett, W. G. Stead. Inspectors Amyes and Ross, and. the secretary. W. Gilbert. ! Leave of absence was granted to I Mr. Crosse, the chairman. I Inspector J. >S. Lopdell wrote ac- ’ cepting one month’s salary in lieu ( of notice. —Received. I G. P. Donnelly wrote stating that the rabbits at Mungaohone were taking the poison well, and that the run was improving in condition. —Received. A. Macdonald, Kuripapanza, complained that he? had been charged too much for the rabbiting of his property.—lt was decided to refer the matter to the inspector for enquiries. The Land Department notified that Mr. Wm. Farrelly still held run No. 14. Kaweka and Kuripapanga. and that as the declaration required had not been forwarded by the board, he was still thelessee, and liable for the rent and cost of rabbiting.—As a mistake had been made, it was decided to write informing them of their true position. The Department of Agriculture wrote stating that some of Inspector Ross’ report would be available later on.-—lnspector Ross said that he was asked to submit the part referring to Hawke’s Bay, and to eliminate certain personal references that were contained in it. Mr. Bennet moved that all rates outstanding at Ist August be sued for - without further notice. Mr. Stead seconded and the motion, was carried. The reports of the inspector were read and adopted. Accounts amounting to £215/15/6 were passed for payment. The secretary stated that there was a credit balance in the bank of £1286.
