HASTINGS CAMPAIGN. The Y.M.C.A. campaign so far realises £3872/9/-. The young men’s committee have collected £387/15/-, the three leading teams being Mr. J. Fear with £152/2/-, Mr. L. Millar £125/8/6, and Mr. H. G. Reeves The young men have worked well throughout the 15 days’ whole canvass, and there arji a good number of cards yet to be returned. It has been found impossible to interview a great number of residents in the specified time, owing to the extent of the country, and these interviews being arranged. The directors, however, have every’ confidence that the money required will bo forthcoming, and the architect is. now preparing plans of the building, and tenders will be called. The cost of furniture will also be ascertained. Several promises of large amounts will be given when the exact amount required is known. The Y.M.C.A. campaign closed yesterday. The total sum collected is £3872/9/-. Mr. Fear’s team maintained its lead to the close, finishing up with a total of £l5» 2/-. Mr. Millar’s team gathered in. £125/8/6. and Mr. Reeves’ £57/15/6.
