MELBOURNE HOTELS CLOSEB (Received 28, 11.0 a.m.) Melbourne, June 28. The Licenses Reduction Board! are closing seven further hotels ias Melbourne. Since the Board waft* created five hundred and two hotefe have been closed, and compensation amounting to £194,989 paid The chairman made comparisons of the system with the local optiora and pointed out that for a period under the latter New South Wales had closed 338 hotels. v He estimated that by 1914, Victoria will close 800 and N.S.W. 425 houses under local option. There is a teadency in overstocked districts fear a vote of continuance.
