THE ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES
COMMISSION APPOINTED. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, June 26. Within a few days the Census Office will hand over to the Electoral Department full particulars of the population of New Zealand, showing its distribution in the various electorates and districts covered by the sub-enumerators. These particulars are, in due course, referred to the Lands and Survey Department, which will prepare a large map setting them opt in a form easy for reference, with due regard to the natural features of the country. The next step is the calling together of the Representation Commissions—one for each island. They will be constituted as follows:—
North Island. Unofficial Members.—Mr. W. H. Quick and Mr. H. S. Wardell. Official Members.—Mr. J. Straucho'n, Surveyor-General, who will be chairman; Mr. E. C. Goldsmith, Chief Surveyor, Auckland ; and Mr. William Armstrong, Chief Surveyor, Taranaki. South Island. Unofficial Members.—Mr. C. S. Reeves and Mr. T. S. Weston. Official Members.—Mr. T. N. Brodrick, Chief Surveyor, Christchurch; Mr. E. W. Wilmot, Chief Surveyor, Otago; and Mr. G. H. McClure, Chief Surveyor, Westland. The Commission will probably be called together during the second week in July .
