FINANCE COMMITTEE.

1. That the action of the committee in accepting the following tenders on behalf of the council be confirmed, viz.:—For supply of cast-iron pipes, Messrs. Briscoe and Co., at £6417/3/2; for supply of sewer pipes, Messrs. Tait and Mills, at £3751/6/3, pipes to be tested at Auckland; for supply of 166 tons of cement, C. H. Cranby and Co., at £3/10/- ; for supply of 167 tons cement, Milburn Lime and Cement Co., at £3/10/- per ton; for supply of 167 tons cement, Williams and Creagh, £3/10/- per ton. 2. That as the tenders received for the supply of expanded metal are considered too high, they be not accepted, but that tenders be called for steel rounds in substitution thereof. 3. That the action of the committee in instructing the Borough Engineer to advertise for applications for a person to test the sewer pipes at Auckland and engage him, bp confirmed. 4. That the Assistant Town Clerk’s salary and one-third of Mr. Donaldson’s salary be charged to the Special Loan Account as from the 3rd December, 1910. HOSE. Tenders for hose were' opened, and it was left to the Mayor to consult with Superintendent Hillson as to the purchase of 1000 ft of Rob Roy hose. At this stage it was proposed to adjourn until Wednesday next.
