Talk in government circles indicates the probability of the naval headquarters being removed to Auckland in about a year’s time. The Admiralty House will then Frevert to the State. This is considered a suitable residence for the Governor-General, and- possibly it will be so arranged. •' The Lord Mayor promised a deputation of representative citizens to call a public meeting to discuss the State’s proposal to deprive the Governor-General of his present Sydney residence, which has aroused much hostility amongst the supporters of the Opposition.
REGISTRATIONS OF CADETS AND TERRITORIALS. .

The registrations of Cadets ami Territorials in Otago during the week ended June 10th were 303, aadß during last week 240. The compared returns for Dunedin, Invercargill, Milton, and Oamaru district® now give a total of G2SS Cadets and 4296 Territorials, or 10,525 in aIL On June 2nd there were 696 mm over 21 years of age who had continued serving in respective companies.
