Five hundred seamen, members of the International Union, struck, and several coasting steamers were unable to procure crews.

Antwerp, June 18. The Loch Torridon sailed, bat returned owing to the crew de-» manding an increase in wages.
STILL SPORADIC.
London, Jund 18. The seamen’s strike is still adic.
Shipowners are opposing the creation of a Conciliation Board, arguing that half of the trade unionists are already absent, and so would be unable to be consulted. Their absence it is calculated, would put undue powers in the hands of trade union leaders.
