DETAILS OF THE AFFAIR.

The followihg are details of the shooting of Steward at Singapore on April 23rd: — Mrs. -Proudfoot states she was alone in the bungalow, when Steward, a friend of the family, called and made violent advances. She seized a revolver and fired five shots into his body at close quarSteward is described as a quiet man.
Bail of a thousand dollars was allowed.
