At the conclusion of the Hastings Harmonic Club’s weekly practice last evening, the members held a social, when occasion was taken to show appreciation of the services rendered the club by their secretary and accompanist, Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Roach, who were presented with a handsome mahogany music cabinet. The club’s conductor. Mr. K. V. Hudson, made the presentation in a felicitous speech, and referred to the untiring energy displayed by Mr. and Mrs. Roach in the interests of the club. Mr. Roach made an appropriate response on behalf of his wife and himself. Musical items were contributed by Mr. and Mrs. Roach, and Messrs. H. Sinclair and Lambert, and after refreshments had been partaken of, a very pleasant function was brought to a close.
