HASTINGS FIRE POLICE.

Captain Hawkes presided at the meeting of the Hastings Fire Police last evening. The secretary was instructed to insure members against accident under a two and sixpenny rate, and his action in keeping the corps covered in the meantime was endorsed.

The question of the formation of a branch of the St. John Ambulance Association was discussed, and it was decided to favour holding the lectures on Wednesday evenings in lieu of Friday.

The balance-sheet in connection with the recent art union, showing a credit of £7/16/-, was adopted. It was decided to take part in full force in the procession on Coronation Day. One new member was proposed.
