- The Maraekakaho Rifle Club peld their eighth annual ball inthe Maraekakaho Hall last evening, the attendance numbering about 50 couples. The floor was in splendid order, and excellent music was supplied by a band consisting of Messrs. Hall (piano), Marbrook (violin), and F. Grubb (cornet). The duties of M.C. were carried out by Messrs. T. McCuller and H. Clark, who were assiduous in attending to the enjoyment of the visitors. These included representatives from all parts of the surrounding district. Extra dances were played by Misses Harrison, E. Beale and E. Beale and T. Carswell. The supper arrangements were a feature of the function and were in the capable hands of Mr. R. Warren. Mr. F. Smith, the energetic secretary, had all the details complete, and the ball was voted to be one of the most enjoyable yet held by the club.
