DIPHTHERIA.
EPIDEMIC IN MELBOURNE.
(Received 10, 10.25 a.m.) Melbourne, June 10.
During the five months ended 31st May, 1099 cases of diphtheria occurred in the metropolitan area as compared with 554 for the same period last year. The epidemic is attributed to the extremely' cold weather.
