HOTEL LICENSES.

AN ALLEGED IMPROPER MANAGER. Eltham. June 7. In connection with the application for a renewal of license of an Eltham hotel at a meeting of the Egmont Licensing Committee today, the police objected on the grounds that the man employed as manager used obscene language, •and had been convicted of that offence. The committee adjourned the application for a fortnight so that the licensee may get rid of his manager or show that he is a proper person to be in the hotel. Hie committee is opposed to a person using bad language being placed ita charge of an hotel.
