WALL—PITTS.
A pretty wedding was solcmnis-d at St. John’s Church. DannevirKe. on Thursday afternoon, the contracting parties being Mr. Henry J. Wall, the eldest son of Mr. -j. Wall. Hastings, and Laura, the fourth daughter of Mr. Hugh Pi?-, of Chelmsford, England. The brH« who was given away by Mr. J. E i ton, senr., of Wairapa. was atttir si in a navy blue tailor-made costurr>< and saxe blue picture hat, and was attended by Miss Gwen Stavclcy (niece of the bride) and Miss FG'.el Wall (sister of the bridegroom), who looked charming in cream delaine dresses and brown picture hats, and each wore gold brooch°s. set with amethysts, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Andrew Wall, of Hastings, acted as west man, an 1 the ceremony was performed by the Rev. E. Robertshawe.
After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of Mis. JJ. B. Eaton, sister of the bride. [ The wedding cake, a handsome i three-decker, was made by Mr. R. Warren, of Hastings. Many useful ; and costly presents were received i as tokens of high esteem in which | the young couple are held by a 'large circle of friends.
The happy couple left by the 5.30 train, en route for New Plymouth, where the honeymoon is being spent.
PARKER—BARRELL.
A quiet wedding took place at St. Matthew's Church, Hastings, on Friday. The Rev. Brocklehurst officiated, and the contracting parties were Mr. Fred. Parker, of Hawera, late of England, and Miss Rose Barrell, of Hastings, late of England. The bride, who was given away by Mr. W. Marguand, wore a tailor-made creme costume with a large brown hat, and carried a shower bouquet. Miss Nellie Looker attended her as bridesmaid. The other bridesmaids were the two little daughters of Mr. Marguand, Winnie and Dorothy, their dresses were white cashmere with blue sashes. They also wore wreaths of forget-me-nots, and each carried a basket of flowers. The gifts from the bridegroom to the bridesmaids were gold brooches and scarf pins. Mr. Tom Smith was best man. A reception was held at the residence of Mrs. Marguand, Beech road. The happy couple left by train later in the day for Dannevirke, en route for Wanganui.
