Immigrants are arriving in Canada at the rate of ten thousand; weekly. The members of the Hawke** Bay Motor Cycle Club held their opening run to-day. Nine members left the Post Office about 1.15 for Palmerston North, and will make the return journey on Monday next. Applications for the position of junior clerk to the Hastings Borough Council, at a salary of £1 per week, were considered by a subcommittee consisting of the Mayor and Cr. George this morning. Master Sydney McKay was appointed to the position. There were (three applicants.
