Minimum weight, lOst 71b. Horses to be nominated by ladies. Hunter’s Crop (presented by A. F. Doug- ’ las, Esq.) will be given to the rider of the winner. Entrance 1 sov. 2 miles.
2. 1.5 p.m.— First Open Flat Race, of 30 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stake. Minimum weight 9st. Nomination 15/-, acceptance 10/-.
7 furlongs. 3. 1.50 p.m.— Hawke’s Bay Hunt Cup Steeplechase Handicap, a Cup value 10 guineas presented by ), with 10 sovs. added for first horse, and 5 sovs. for second horse. For qualified hunters. Hunter’s Crop (presented by S. Charlton, Esq.) will be given to the rider of the winner. Minimum weight, list. Entrance, 1 sov. About 2j miles. 4. 2.25 p.m.— Trial Hack Race, of 25 sovs, second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stake. For 2-year-olds and upwards that have never won a race at time of nomination. RULES AND REGULATIONS.
Run under New Zealand Rules of Racing.
Winner of any race after declaration of weights to cany 71b extra. Definition of a Hunter. —A horse that has been hunted at least five times this season with any recognised pack of hounds, and whose owner is a subscriber of at least three guineas to a Hunt. All hunters’ races are confined to gentlemen riders. Certificates must be produced at scales. Nominations (with performances of hunters) and acceptances togethey with the necessary fees, COLOURS OF THE RIDER, etc., must be in the hands of the Secretary, at his office, Hastings, not later than 8 p.m. on the dates named below:—
THURSDAY, JULY 13th, Nominations for all Events. TUESDAY. JULY 18th, Weights will be declared. FRIDAY, JULY 21st, Acceptances for all Events, except Hunters’ Final Steeples. W. J. STRATTON, Secretary. Hastings. BUTTER WRAPPERS a specialty at Hart & Co.’s, Tribune Buildings, Hastings.
