BRAVERY REWARDED.

AVaihi, 3lay 31. AV. Moran, who bravely rescued a man who was being carried out to sea at Bowentown Heads last Christmas and who was awarded the Humane Society’s gold medal was presented by the Mayor, on behalf of the public of AVaihi with a gold medal and a clock. Moran had kept his companion above water for over two hours and both were eventually hauled to shore in an exhausted condition. A month ago Morgan was rendered totally blind by an explosion in a mine. The concert last night was given in his aid.
