TURNER DEFEATS FELIX. Broken Hill, May 22. Bill Turner, I3st 71b. to-night beat Peter Felix, 13st 61b, in the second | round of a contest which was for a stake and the resident championI ship of Australia. There was a ! splendid attendance. In the second round, when about two minutes j had gone, Turner got in a smart left, and before Felix could recover, I followed up with a terrific right just < under the heart, and Felix fell like | a log. He lay writhing for several j seconds, but before the ten was | reached, as he was struggling to his i feet, the gong went. The referee I said he had not counted ten, and i ordered the fight to continue. At I the end of the interval, however, i Felix was unable to leave his chair, and ordered the towel to be thrown in. Turner was proclaimed the winner. Felix had to be carried to his room, apparantly in agony. The crowd openly expressed dissent with the result, as Felix had shown so well up to that period.
