Air. Foster Brook has to let in the rapidly growing district of Havelock North a new brick shop admirably suitable for a baker, as there is no other baker or pastrycook in the district. At the Hastings Police Court this morning, before Mr. AV. Heslop, J.P.. Timoth.v Goodman and Hugh Ford were each fined £2 with 2/costs, or in default 7 days’ imprisonment, for drunkenness. Private advices from Sydney" are to the effect that Mr. A. F. Douglas’ private trainer, J. M. Cameron, well known in Hawke’s Bay-, sustained a broken thigh, the result of a kick when shipping Woolloomooloo to New Zealand.
