MASSEY v. TIMES.
NEW TRIAL REFUSED. "Wellington, May 19. This afternoon the Chief Justice and Justice Chapman dismissed the motion filed by Mr. Bell, K.C., in the case AV. F. Massey v. New Zealand Times for a new trial. The motion was based on the grounds that the Judge had misdirected the jury, that the verdict which was for the defendant was defective, and that it was against the weight of evidence.
