Mr. R. C. Sachs left Hastings this morning for Invercargill, en route for Sydney. A Mel bourne cable records the death of Mr. Glass, a member of the Victoria State Assembly. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Williams and Miss Webster are in Napier, and are staying at the Masonic Hotel. Mrs. A. J. Rutherford and Miss Rutherford. V\ airarapa, are at present in Napier. Mrs. C ovits. Xapier. who was seriously injured by a cab some time ago. is progressing favourably > towards recovery. * I
Mr. W . H. Hawkins, of Pahiatua. states that he has definitely decked to again be a candidate* for the Pahiatua seat, and cons’ders his chance of election very good in view of the strong support he is receiving.
