Sales were animated ; crossbreds continue firm at opening prices;merinos are about a half penny above March prices.

WILLIAMS AND KETTLE’S CABLE.

Messrs. ‘Williams and Kettle, Ltd., have received the following cable advice from cneir London agents : “The wool sales have opened with a good attendance of buyers and competition is keen, especially for coarse wool. Compared with closing prices of last sale halfbred has advanced 2[ per cent, fine crossbred 2[ per cent, medium coarse crossbred 2[ per cent, coarse crossbred 5 per cent, lambs wool 2i per cent. It is expected that these rates will be maintained throughout the series.

De Pelichet, McLeod and Co., report having received the following cable from their London agents:— Wool sales have opened.
