ENTERTAINMENTS.

“THE WANDERERS.”

Monday evening next, the 4th inst., will witness the opening performance in Hastings of Mr George Stephenson's latest English attraction, the Wanderers’ Musical Costume Comedy Company., with whom is associated the brilliant London society, entertainer, Miss Phyllis Hopwood-L oldi. Much interest centres over the advent of this clever organisation, and a crowded house is assured to welcome their first appearance in Hastings. The company has just concluded a remarkably successful season in Wellington, where the press of that city have spoken in eulogistic terms of the excellence of the entertainment. The “ N.Z. Times,” in a lengthly notice, says : "The Wanderers made such an excellent impression that they may look forward to a very warm welcome from Dominion audiences. Their clever entertainments appeal to a very wide circle for patronage, Exceptionally fine mounting gives the production a complete finish. Mirth is the outstanding element in the programme. As chief merry maker, and a first-class one at that, Mr. Leslie Holmes deserves first mention. It is seldom the good for-

tune of a Wellington audience to hear a comedian of such all-round ability. A lady xnonologuist is so unfamiliar a sight on the stage that the audience was particularly curious to see how Miss Phyllis Hopwood-Foldi would sustain so universal a vote. She scored a decided triumph, and captivated her audience right from the start. The artiste is exceedingly clever, and well sustained her English reputation. . . . The whole perform-

ance was bright and interesting and there was not a dull moment in the programme.” The plan for the Hastings .season is on view at Flail’s, stationers.
