ATOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that by Warrant under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, published in the New Zealand " Gazette of the 13th April last, it is provided as follows : — (1) The Hawke's Bay County Council are authorised to execute a certain public work, to wit the construction of a bridge over the Esk or Petane River at a point on the main road from Napier to Wairoa distant about nine miles from the Napier Post Office.

(2) The cost of the said work is apportioned thus: Onefourth (or a sum not exceeding £800) is to be paid by the Wairoa County Council, and the residue (less any grants in aid from the General Government) by the Hawke’s Bay County Council. Any such grants in aid are to be reckoned as part of the lat ter Council’s contribution. (3) In case the Hawke's Hay County Council shall raise- a loan to defray the cost of the said work, then the Wairoa County Council may discharge their obligation hereunder by paying to the Hawke’s Bay County Conned a sum not exceeding Forty Pounds during the currency of the loan.

(4) In case the boundary between the AVairoa County and the Hawke’s Bay County shall hereafter lie altered, then the said cost shall be reapportioned.

(5) The Wairoa County Council are to pay their contribution or such portion thereof as may from time to time -be come due within thirty day’s after payment shall be demanded in writing by or on behalf of the Hawke’s Bay County Council.

(6) The construction of the said work is to be under the sole control of the Hawke’s BayCounty Council. A. H. FERGUSON, Clerk H.B. County Council.
