WELLINGTON RACING CLUB’S AUTUMN MEETING.

The Wellington Racing Club’s autumn meeting was commenced to-day in fine but doubtful weather. The recent rains made the going very heavy. and the times were consequently slow. The attendance suffered on account of the weather. The totalisator investments for the day were £13,045 as compared with £12.470/10 - last year. Results

Plunk et Nursery Handicap.— Khamsin 1, Royal Scotch 2, Bootle X Also started : Terebinth, Aloha, Mazurka, Abercoed, Mt. Victoria. Khamsin came with a .great rattle opposite the stand and beat the favourite by a long neck. Terebinth ran third, but the rider did not weigh in. Time Imin 5 l-s«ec. Railway Handicap.—Zealand 1, Thetis 2, Formby 3. Also started : Obsono. Gold Lace, Tumut, Sunburnt, Mon Ami and Tekahurangi. Mon Ami led to the people’s stand when Zealand came along and got the verbict by a length, Formby h alfa length away. Time Imin 18 44eee.

Tinakori Handicap.—Turna 1, St. Bees 2. Master Sylvia 3. Also started: Montiform, Allurement, Longstep, Rongomai, Kina, Makara. Miss Murphy, Varna, Royal Knight, Egypt- Allurement, Makars and Kina were prominent at the outset. These led the field for the distance, where Turna and St. Bees put in a claim, the formerprevailing by a nose; Master Slyvia a head away. Time Imin 19 315aec.
