MR. PLOWMAN’S RETIREMENT

In another column to-day Mr. W. Plowman announces that he desires to retire from the Harbour Board election. Owing to delay in receipt of his posted withdrawal of candidature it is impossible to prevent his name appearing on the voting papers, but he wishes it to be distinctly understood that it appears there by mistake, and he asks all electors to cast their votes for the Harbour League candidates, Messrs Niven, McGrath and Rourke. Air. Plowman is to be congratulated upon his public-spirited action, and we hope that all his friends will respect his expressed wish and vote for the League ticket. At the same tune, as Mr. Plowman is still a canfor the Borough Council, it isrio be hoped that his generous acm foregoing almost certain election to the Board will not be forgotten.
