A PROMISE OF PEACE.

The Mexican Ambassador assured Mr. Taft in an interview that peace would soon be re-established.
MOVEMENT OF THE FORCES.
Mexico, April 20.
The rebels formally demanded the surrender of Juarez in 24 hours. The Federals did not reply. The town’s defences are complete and a stubborn fight is probable.
A force of 1000 Federals left Chihuahua bound for the relief of Ojinaca where the insurgents are active. It is reported that 1000 rebels are preparing tv attack Atlixco. A Federal force has left Aguaprieta intending to attack a band of revolutionists seen in the neighbouring hills.
AMERICAN FILIBUSTERS.
(Received 21, 12.50 a.m.) Mexico, April 20.
It is reported England and Japan have protested against America allowing filibustering in connection with the revolution.
NO ARMISTICE. Madero refused an armistice. He says he will discuss, it after the battle of Jaurez.
