WOMAN SENTENCED TO ‘ TH HEE MONTHS. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland. April 21. ; Mr. Cutten. S.M.. gave decision; this morning in the case Madeline i Graham. married woman. and Dorothy Buckworth, charged with stealing a purse containing £4 left lay another customer on the table of a restaurant. The elder woman threw the blame on the younger. Mr. Cutten concluded her story was false, that she took the purse and dropped it in her companion's handbag. The police stated Mrs. Graham occupied a .respectable position, and nothing was known against her. She frequented the races and betted occasionally. The Magistrate imposed a sentence of three months' with hard labour.
