400 MINERS RESCUED.

(Received 20, 10. Q a.m.) London April 19. The firing of an electric cable at Pinkton Colliery lighted the woodwork at the bottom of the shaft from which dense smoke issued. Four hundred miners were rescued, there being many thrilling escapes.
