Langran, Clyde Road, Napier. Mrs. D. Whyte was a passenger by the express on Saturday morning to spend a holiday with he’daughter at Carterton. Mr. William Castles, the “ Taranaki Herald's ” linotype expert, and Mrs. Castles are spending a fortnight’s holiday in Napier. Mr. W. F. Hall, who recently disposed of his jewellery business in Hastings, has purchased a stationery business in Wairoa. Mr. T. J. Thompson has been nominated for the Hastings Mayoralty by Messrs. F. L. Bone and Frank Bethell. We understand that this is the eignth time Mr. Frank Bethell has been associated with the nomination of Mr. Thompson for municipal offices. Mr. W. H. Morton, the City Engineer for Wellington, passed through Napier last Saturday en route for Auckland. This was Mr. Morton’s first visit to Napier, and »he is loud in his praises of the i splendid esplanade, which he considers one of the finest in the world.
