TRADES UNIONIST FUND.

FOR DEFENDERS OF UNIONIST PRINCIPLES. (Received 8, 9.30 a.m.) Sydney. April 8. The Labour Council is considering a scheme for establishing a trades unionist fund on the principles of a defence fund for the purpose of assisting trades unionists who are imprisoned for things said or done at the instigation of unions in defence of the principles of unionism. Only members contributing to the unions will benefit from payments of the fund, which will be at the rate of £2 per week for wife and 5 - for each of the children of the imprisoned unionist.
