SHORTAGE OF LABOUR. [per peess association.] Auckland, April 7. The conference of representatives of masters and workers in the boot trade, regarding the alleged shortage of labour for that industry’, has concluded. The conference passed a resolution expressing tneir belief that the question of shortage of female labour as alleged by the Employers' Association, and the whole conditions attendant on the employment of female labour in the Dominion is of sufficient importance to remit the question to the New Zealand Federated Association and union for further investigation, and if thought necessary to make joint representation to the Government.
