A SOUND PROPOSAL.

Mr. McCall, Agent General for Tasmania, has asked the Colonial Institute to establish an Australian section, meeting monthly, with the view of inviting Australians just arrived to discuss Australian topics wherein they are specially versed, bringing Australians in' London into touch with events in Australia. <Received 6. 10.20 a.m.) London, April 5. An Australian society is being organised in London for social putposes : it will he under the patronage of Sir Geo. Reid. various Agents-General and other influen tial persons.
