MIGRATION OFFICERS’ ; CRUELTY.
April 1. It is reported at Winnipeg that ■ the body* of a British subject was found on the international boundary at Neche, North Dakota. Foul play is suspected. The Neche immigration staff was recently dismissed in consequence of the alleged ill-treatment of im- ! migrants. Two telephone employees swear that the deceased was confined illegally by an immigration officer.
