Watson, labour leader, speaking at the reception of the destroyers’ officers, said there were bright prospects of universal peace among European nations, but no such prospects in the Far Eastern races, in which thuy were concerned. They were beginning to feel foiled in the demand for concessions which Australia coull never grant with honour. Australia should speak not with the spirit of defiance, but the spirit of bold determination.
