MONEY MARKET STEADY..

(Received 30, 9.30 a.m.) Sydney, Mar. 30.

Mr. Russell French, general man ager of the Bank of New South Wales, in a presidential address at the Bankers’ Institute, said no period in the Australian history of the money market had been steadier than the past fifteen years. As the result of closei settlement the Bank’s advances had increased, but the people amongst whom they were spread increased at a much greater ratio. He anticipated no difficulties in connection with the Federal note issue.
