Wellington, Mar. 29.

A private in the Butt Valley Rifles was before a court-martial last night. The case was only a trivial one of refusing to help to carry ammunition to the Drill Halt It is the first court-martial in the district under the new Defence Act, which now opens I hem to the press. Accused pleaded guilty, but the finding was not made public.
